MOTHER & BABY CLASSES: DUBLIN

 

Sometimes maternity leave can seem like groundhog day. Why not try some classes we have tried over the past while. They are a great place to meet parents with kids the same age as yours!

BUMP AND BEYOND

Ran by the gorgeous Lisa, who is a practicing midwife working in the labour ward of one of Dublin’s maternity hospitals. Bump and Beyond offer a range of classes, from antenatal classes to baby yoga and massage. The classes are based out of Pembroke Montessori on Pembroke Road.

A 5 week term costs €110, and this is redeemable against your health insurance.

HAPPY CUBS

Happy Cubs have two branches on their website.

Firstly they have Swim Cubs, they welcome babies from the age of 2 months in their Bray and Sandymount hydrotherapy pools, or from 3 months in their Blackrock and Cherrywood pools. Their Loughlinstown pool is suitable for Toddler Cubs and Big Cubs aged 1.5 to 4.5 years only as the water is slightly cooler.

There are many reasons to enrol your baby or toddler in swimming, as well as it being a lovely activity to do together, other benefits include: Water safety, bonding, health, development, confidence, emotional support.

Happy Cubs also offer Music Cubs. They offer classes to suit babies, toddlers and big kids from birth to 5 years. Their stages are expertly designed by age and ability and take into account varying developmental stages within the age groups. Their classes have been developed with a child-led, gentle approach, working at your bear cub's individual pace.

Locations include: Rathfarnham, Clonskeagh, Dundrum and Sandymount.

CLAPHANDIES

We are big Claphandies fans, all of Ashley’s & Katherine's children attended the classes weekly!

ClapHandies PlayLabs offer babies, wobblers and toddlers (birth to 3 1/2 years) a chance to play, meet other children and develop new skills along the way.

The weekly classes offer a wide variety of engaging experiences tailored to the needs of each age group. They are also a chance for children to socialise with children of their own age, while offering parents/caregivers the opportunity to get to know others in their area too.

ZENDEN STUDIO

ZenDen runs high energy age-appropriate play classes for children, starting from age 1.5 - 3yrs in our morning classes.

Through play, children develop their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.  Each structured play class includes activities to advance their dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving skills.

ZenDen is based in Dartry, Dublin 6.

They have drop in classes at €25 per class, they also offer 7 week terms at €150.

MESSY FUN

The Messy fun classes are all about bringing your child’s imagination to life.

Some of our kids joined the classes and loved any excuse to get down and dirty for an hour. Each week the class was themed, so the kids got to play with bubbles, sand, paint, anything messy you can think of!

They are so passionate about enabling children to express themselves through sensory play and are delighted to be able offer parents this safe, creative environment to watch their children develop new skills through an integrated learning experience.

Messy Fun classes are based out of Terenure. They offer individual classes at €17.50, or class bundles of 8 classes for €100 or 4 classes for €56.

ASK THE MIDWIFE

Ask the Midwife is a hub that provides premium maternity care, devoted to empowering and guiding individuals and families on their transformative parenthood journey.

They offer everything from acupuncture, reiki, lactation consultations to post partum Pilates and yoga. They really have everything covered for mothers and mothers to be.

They have lots of mother and baby friendly classes on offer, pilates, baby bloom and baby massage.

They are online but their classes are out of their beautiful shop in Dun Laoghaire.

Yoga and Pilates classes are €25 for a drop in class, and €100 for a bundle of 5 classes.
